The Brown Scapular is a great gift from Blessed Mother. The devil hates those who wear the Brown Scapular properly. No devotion has been confirmed by more numerous authentic miracles than the Brown Scapular. |

To receive the promises given by Blessed Mother to those who wear the Brown Scapular,
you must be enrolled by a priest to the Confraternity of the Brown Scapular and vested
in this tiny habit of brown wool, as she gave to St. Simon Stock and the Carmelites.
Conditions to obtain Sabbatine Privilege:
1) Wear the Brown Scapular;
2) Practice chastity according
to one's state of life;
3) Daily recitation of the Little Office
of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Substitution of 3rd condition:
1) Those who cannot read can abstain
from meat on Wednesday and Saturday.
2) Any priest who has diocesan faculties
has the additional faculty to change the 3rd
requirement into another pious work
-for example, the daily Rosary.
The Two Great Promises of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
are available to those who have been enrolled in the Brown Scapular:
1st Great Promise:
The great promise of the Blessed Virgin Mary, given to St. Simon Stock on July 16, 1251, is as follows:
"Whoever dies wearing this scapular shall not suffer eternal fire."
2nd Great Promise: (Sabbatine Privilege)
Blessed Mother's 2nd Scapular Promise, known as the Sabbatine Privilege (the word 'Sabbatine' meaning Saturday)
was given by the Blessed Virgin Mary to Pope John XXIII in the year 1322 and is as follows:
"I, the Mother of Grace, shall descend on the Saturday after their death,
and whomsoever I shall find in Purgatory, I shall free."
